Freeform Tube Bending Services
Complex Multi-Radius Parts Made Simple
Freeform tube bending is a CNC bending process used to create continuous-radius, multi-radius, and complex 3D tube shapes without the straight sections often required by traditional rotary draw bending.
Sharpe Products uses NISSIN CNC 3D freeform bending technology to manufacture complex tubular components from 0.75" OD through 2-3/8" OD for both prototype and production applications. Freeform bending allows sweeping curves, multiple radii, spiral bends, and flowing geometries that would be difficult or impossible to produce using conventional tube bending methods.

Freeform Bending Capabilities
Sharpe Products' freeform bending capabilities include:
- Tube diameters from 0.75" OD up to 2-3/8" OD
- Little or no straights sections between bends
- Continuous-radius bending
- Multiple radii within a single part
- Complex 3D tube geometries
- Spiral and sweeping bends
- Prototype and production manufacturing
- Additional fabrication support including laser cutting & end forming
What is Freeform Bending?
Freeform tube bending is an advanced CNC bending process that continuously forms tubing as it moves through the machine. Unlike traditional rotary draw bending, which creates a fixed-radius bend around a tooling form, freeform bending allows the bend radius to change throughout the part.
This capability enables manufacturers to create:
- Continuous-radius bends
- Multiple radii in a single component
- Organic and flowing tube shapes
- Spiral geometries
- Complex three-dimensional forms
- Bends with little or no straight sections between them
Because more of the part geometry can be produced from a single tube, freeform bending can often reduce welds, fabricated joints, and secondary manufacturing operations.
